Good Morning Sunday
Don Maclean marks Mothering Sunday by talking to round-the-world sailing heroine Tracy Edwards MBE about the life changes brought about by the birth of her daughter, Mackenna, 15 months ago.
Tracy, now 38, captained the first all-female crew in the Whitbread Round the World Yacht Race in 1989, sailing the evocatively named Maiden to second place overall.
Then, three years ago, she and her all-female crew were dismasted in the Southern Ocean while striving to make the fastest non-stop circumnavigation of the globe.
Tracy also mentions her rebellious teenage years, but mainly she talks in glowing terms about motherhood, and the fact that it has put her off competitive sailing for life.
