Big Red Nose Night
Besides the irritating strapline - 'Say Pants To Poverty' - and the odd comic who isn't funny (mentioning no names) but has to be tolerated because he is linked to this worthy cause, there's always something amusing to be found in this impressively organised laughathon (with intermittent serious bits to wipe the smile off your face). And it is for charidee.
Highlights include Ali G. meeting Posh'n'Becks, Robbie Williams tempting Ted and Ralph, Kathy Burke doing a snog-athon and Victor Meldrew in the last-ever One Foot In The Grave.
The only glaring lowlight is Mo Mowlam in that god-awful Ardal O'Hanlon superhero 'comedy' My Hero.
The serious bits include Robbie in Mozambique meeting victims of last year's devastating floods, Lenny Henry looking at the work of Alzheimer Scotland, Stephen Tompkinson seeing how an organisation called Body & Soul helps kids with Aids and EastEnders' Nigel talking to women in Rwanda who were raped in the mass genocide and now have Aids.
Plus, it's the final eviction for Celebrity Big Brother.
