Love Field
A very nice movie in which a Texan housewife (Michelle Pfeiffer), in thrall to the Kennedys, travels across country to witness the arrival of the President on that fateful day in Dallas in 1963.
Having abandoned her husband, she is accompanied on the journey by a black father and his daughter. It's a road movie, of sorts, in which various issues of race relations and hero worship are examined.
Jonathan Kaplan's film is schematic, for sure, but this remains one of Pfeiffer's best and least appreciated performances (she was Oscar nominated). Treat yourself.
