Lon Chaney: Behind The Mask
Known as 'the man of a thousand faces', this documentary profiles Lon Chaney (pictured), master of grotesque movie make-up.
When he died in 1930, age 47, he had played 150 film roles, including the Phantom of the Opera, for which he painted his face white, distended his nostrils with hairpins and stuffed his cheeks with cotton wool.
