Top Ten: 80s Soul
We've had Top Tens of Sixties soul (largely classic) and Seventies soul (mostly great). Now it's Eighties soul and some might feel it's a Top Ten too far. The likes of Luther Vandross and Alexander O'Neal are hardly up there with Sam Cooke and Otis Redding.
Still, it's fun to see some of the more, er, colourful acts - remember Imagination? - and to revisit the heyday of Soul II Soul. There's also the awesome sight of Prince (pictured) - 'not your average human being', as someone, putting it mildly, describes him - before his own myth consumed him.
Richard Blackwood is this week's presenter.
