Vanity Fair
A bright and entertaining adaptation of Thackeray's enchanting social satire.
Impoverished orphan Becky Sharp (Natasha Little) finishes her schooling at the respectable Miss Pinkerton's Academy and looks set for a career as a governess.
Her friend Amelia Sedley (Frances Grey) is from wealthier stock, and seems destined to marry the dashing George Osborne (Tom Ward).
However, Becky's ideas of her future are cast to the wind when she meets Amelia's rich brother Joss (Jeremy Swift). Faultless period drama.
