Margot Robbie is often described as one of the most down-to-earth, friendly celebrities in Hollywood.

However, in a resurfaced interview, the Barbie actress revealed that in her younger years, she was guilty of being a bad daughter and a bit of a 'brat'.

So much so that the Aussie star left her mum, Sarie Kessler, in danger with a snake while she chatted to her girlfriends on MSN messenger back in the day.

Appearing on The Graham Norton Show in 2018, Margot confessed she was forever in her mum's debt due to her rebellious childhood.

'I was such a brat and I feel really bad about it,' she recalled to Graham.

'So, I was on MSN, obviously the most important thing at the time.

'We lived out in the sticks and often snakes would get into the house and, you know, it wasn't a big deal. You just have to chase it around and get it out.'

'So my mum yelled out and she was like, "Can you come help me? This snake's really big. I can't get it on my own. Can you come help me?"' she continued.

'And I was like, "Ugh, I'm so busy Mum. No, I can't."'

Later, when she realised she hadn't heard from her mum in 10 minutes, Margot went downstairs to see if everything was alright.

'I see Mum halfway down the stairs and the snake...  She tried to pick this big python up with a broom and a stick but it had wound its way up around her arm and was going around her neck, trying to choke her,' she revealed.

The actress ended up grabbing the snake behind its jaw and helped untangle her mum from the non-venomous reptile.

'I felt so bad,' she said.

Daily Mail exclusively revealed that Margot spent $2.5 million buying modern, side-by-side homes on Queensland's Gold Coast for her Mum and older sister.

Margot's mother, a physiotherapist, and sister Anya, who works for an accounting firm, were both seen leaving the stunning properties just days after Margot herself was Down Under to attend a close girlfriend's hen's party.

What's more, in 2014, she paid off her mother's mortgage on her previous home for her birthday.

At the time, Sarie reportedly called her birthday the 'best one ever,' adding it was an 'amazing thing' for her daughter to do.

Margot's mother bought the red brick house, where Margot spent her late teens, for $488,000 in 2007.

It was sold for $630,000 in October 2018 after just 22 days on the market.
