Emmy Awards 2025: Noah Wyle's ER follow-up The Pitt TRIUMPHS with The Studio and Adolescence

The 77th Primetime Emmy Awards proved to be a rebirth for ER star Noah Wyle when his hit medical drama The Pitt won the final award for outstanding drama series at the 77th Primetime Emmy Awards.

The night's other big winners were Seth Rogen's Hollywood satire The Studio and Stephen Graham's dark crime drama Adolescence.

It was a night for the history books, as Adolescence star Owen Cooper, who played a teen accused of the grisly murder of a classmate, became the youngest Emmy winner ever at 15.

Seth Rogen's The Studio also broke a record by winning the most Emmys for a comedy series in a single year, with 13 wins.

The glamorous ceremony was held this year at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles and broadcast live on CBS and Paramount+.

Grammy-nominated comedian Nate Bargatze made his debut hosting the ceremony after becoming a stand-up star and a popular repeat guest on Saturday Night Live in recent years, though he received some brutal reviews for his deadpan performance.

Stephen Colbert calls on CBS to continue late-night tradition after plans to end his show

Stephen Colbert didn't hold back on calling out his soon-to-be-former employer CBS when he won the Emmy for The Late Show.

'I want to thank CBS were giving us the privilege to be part of the late-night tradition, which I hope continues long after we are no longer doing this show,' he said.

Just beforehand, his colleageues chanted 'Stephen! Stephen!' on stage before he told them to 'think of the children' because of host Nate Bargatze's diminishing donation clock.

And the end, he got whipped into a fury and shouted, 'Stay strong, be brave, and if the elevator tries to bring you down, go crazy and punch a higher floor! Whoo!'

Graham starred on Adolescence as the father of a teen son accused of brutally murdering a classmate.

He was honored at the Emmys for his multifacted talents after receiving additional nods for writing and directing the series.

John Oliver managed to get through his speech for oustanding scripted variety series in around 15 seconds, but he was still censored twice on the live broadcast on CBS.

The former Daily Show star won the award for his news-comedy series Last Week Tonight on HBO.

On social media, fans were begging someone in the audience to tell them what the comedian had said that warranted the double censorship.

One fan claimed he said, 'F*** you Nate Bargatze, that is a lot of money for you - and you can add a f*** to the swear jar as well.'

After his speech, Oliver kept things moving along by literally running of the stage.
