Cher, 64, makes a statement in a see-through top and slashed leggings

She's of an age where she could be drawing her pension.

But at 64 the Goddess Of Pop has no plans to slow down.

Instead a youthfully dressed Cher was busy promoting her new film Burlesque on David Letterman's show in New York last night.

Having spent a fortune on plastic surgery and beauty treatments over the years, Cher obviously felt she should show off her expensive figure.

Her black loose-knit sweater showed off her bra, while her tight leggings were slashed at the side to reveal her shapely legs.

Cher, born Cherilyn Sarkisian, has been in the public eye since topping the charts with her smash hit I Got You Babe more than 45 years ago.

Earlier this week she received Glamour magazine's Lifetime Achievement Award.

But despite her many decades in showbusiness she said it came as something of a shock.

'You know, it's hard for me because it just feels like it should be someone else,' she told MTV on the red carpet.

'It seems like I should be here presenting, because lifetime achievement, I don't know, it seems like it should be for something more than just doing my work, for doing the work that I've done.

'I'm an entertainer ... it just seems like it should be someone more.'
