Steady on there, Rover. I don't behave badly any more!
As one of the Men Behaving Badly in the 1990s sitcom, Martin Clunes was the ultimate beer-swilling lout.
These days, however, he is more comfortable in the role of country squire.
Six years after leaving London with his wife and daughter, the 48-year-old actor is firmly settled on a 130-acre farm in Dorset.
Man being brave badly: Martin Clunes seems to have changed his mind about helping out with the police dog display at the Buckham Fair in Dorset
No escaping the law: Clunes, relieved that the dog went for the right limb, organised the fair, which also has pony rides and clay pigeon shooting
More than 2,000 visitors descended on his home for the Buckham Fair, where he arranged pony rides, a merry-go-round, clay pigeon shooting and a display by police dogs which he enthusiastically joined.
Clunes and his wife Philippa lived in Putney before heading for the country with daughter Emily, now 11.
He said: 'We did look around in London and think, “We don’t want her to have the pressures that teenagers seem to have here".
Larking about: the 48-year-old actor admits that he never dreamed of a rural life
' We want her to hold on to her childhood for as long as possible.
'Now we have this life that I’d never have even dreamed I wanted.
‘We have horses, dogs and chickens. It’s not very cool to say it, but animals give you a great sense of belonging.’
Clunes played Gary in Men Behaving Badly, alongside first Harry Enfield and then Neil Morrissey.
Since then he has gone on to even greater success playing a country GP in Doc Martin.
Country convert: Clunes moved from London to the country with his wife and daughter six years ago, and now owns horses, dogs and chickens
