All Yellow: Coldplay get the Simpsons treatment
Coldplay may have sold more than 50 million albums and won six Brit Awards, but now the band can truly say they've made it.
The internationally famous foursome have been picked to appear on The Simpsons, joining legends such as the Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney, Elton John, U2, Sting and Michael Jackson.
The band were given the all Yellow treatment for a 20th anniversary edition of the soap.
All Yellow: What will Chris Martin look like as a Simpson?
The plotline sees Homer hire the band to perform in his Springfield home after winning the lottery.
Executive producer Al Jean says: 'When Bart goes to the bathroom, Coldplay have to stop.'
Lead singer Chris Martin is the only one of the band to have a speaking part, recording his four lines with Dan Castellaneta, the voice of Homer, last week.
A source told The Sun: 'It was surreal hearing Homer and Chris talking but a really good laugh.
'He'll remember it forever and his kids will love it.'
Past guests: Coldplay follow in the footsteps of Sir Paul McCartney and his late wife Linda, and Simon Cowell
Musical footsteps: Stars including Michael Jackson 50 Cent (pictured) and the Rolling Stones have appeared on the show
