Contestants gear up for Survivor final
More than a month of sun, sea, sand and squabbles on a remote island will will tonight land one of two finalists on ITV1's Survivor with £1 million.
Teacher Susannah Moffat and detective Jonny Gibb will find out which of them wins the cash in the live finale of the show.
The series failed to match the interest in last year's show, but last week's semi-final drew the latest series' highest ratings with 6.8 million tuning in.
Gibb and Moffat have endured weeks of often poor diet and physical hardships during their 25 days on the island off Panama, central America
In last week's edition viewers saw Susannah win immunity and a guaranteed place in the final.
Jonny beat barrister John Dalzell, 32, who now makes up the jury of other castaways who will choose the winner in a secret ballot with the result announced during the show.
Moffat, 27, an English and drama teacher from Wimbledon, south west London and Gibb, 30, a CID officer from Edinburgh, will try to persuade former islanders that they should win the prize.
Last year the show failed to measure up to expectations and there was some surprise that ITV agreed to a second series.
Station chiefs bumped it into a later slot this time with viewers building from an initial 4.5 million to last week's peak.
The public will also be able to register who they would like to see win the prize.
The pair will come face to face with each other and their fellow castaways for the first time in three months when they appear in a London TV studio in front of a live audience.
