MICA PARIS, 33, is best known for her Eighties hit My One Temptation. She has been making music ever since.

What are you doing now?

I've just finished presenting two documentaries for Channel 4 and I'm working on my as-yet-untitled fifth album. I've also got a Radio 2 show called Soul Solutions.

Highs and lows?

When My One Temptation went to No 1, everything went crazy. I wanted to be famous and suddenly it came true.

Most memorable fame moment?

When my record went to No 1, kids started following me down the street and it came as such a shock that I hid for two weeks.

What about your love life?

I've been with Andreas, who's a German film producer, for four years and we live with my ten-year-old daughter Monet at our homes in Little Venice and New York.

Would you make a comeback?

I've never really been away. I'm incredibly blessed - thanks to the man upstairs.

Did you make your fortune?

Yes, I have a high standard of living. But I stopped spending like crazy when Monet was born - she was my wake-up call.

What about the future?

It's looking good. I now release my own records through my company, Bank Music. Taking control is the only way forward.
