Birds of Tokyo performed to a packed Optus Stadium at the AFL Grand Final on Saturday.
The five-piece Perth outfit performed their hit song Laterns, a cover of Silverchair's Straight Lines, before rounding out the half-time show with Unbreakable.
However, eagle-eyed viewers would've noticed an bizarre situation happening among the dancers in front of the stage during the final song.

Quick thinking fans used their phone lights to fill in the missing areas resulting in the makeshift fairy lights effect.
Frontman Ian Kenny was not phased either, calling out to the crowd, 'Those lights look beautiful my friends'.

But it was when they took on a cover of the Silverchair song Straight Lines that the claws came out among the viewers.
Many posted on social media panning the performance, with Silverchair fans insisting that singer Ian Kenny didn't match up to the Newcastle band's frontman, Daniel Johns.

One person Tweeted: 'The worst cover of a Silverchair song ever!' while another agreed: 'Please, do not touch Silverchair. They are sacred.'
Another complained: 'Could've been a flex doing a Silverchair cover if he actually knew the damn words and wasn't looking down.'
However others enjoyed the show, with one person writing: 'Birds of Tokyo nailed it!' while another said: 'Halftime show done right. Think we need to move to Perth!'
