Members of All Saints, Atomic Kitten and more reflect on the highs and lows of fame

Year: 2025

Following the success of Boybands Forever in 2024, this three-parter tracks the rise of girl groups in the 1990s and beyond, starting with All Saints and the Spice Girls. It's aided by a rich collection of archive footage and commentary from band members, including a particularly frank reflection from All Saint Melanie Blatt.

Part two tells the story of the generation of bands that came after the initial wave, including Atomic Kitten, while the third moves toward the 2010s, tracking the trajectories of Little Mix and the ever-changing line-up of Sugababes.

Even if you weren't singing along with their tunes at the time, it's worth a watch for nostalgia and gossip value alone. It's also interesting to see the story of fame presented from the other side, and with the distance of time. When these bands were riding high, it looked as if they were having a ball. The view was often way less rosy from the inside, though, as these interviews reveal. (Three episodes)
