When it began, The Morning Show looked like a glossy drama about catfights behind the scenes at a US TV network. It swiftly proved itself to have more depth than that though and its fourth series tackles a lot of issues.

Hinged around the network's make-or-break 2024 Summer Olympics coverage, it deals with Artificial Intelligence (the wizards at UBN have come up with tech to make the anchors speak foreign languages), father-daughter issues (Jeremy Irons is playing the dad of Jennifer Aniston's network star Alex), corporate cover-ups, an upcoming election and the return of an old face to UBN - good old southern firebrand Bradley Jackson (Reese Witherspoon), who will surely have words for Alex (Aniston). So it is still a little bit about catfights, too.

Meanwhile, do you remember dishevelled Chip, once Alex's downtrodden producer? He's now taking a documentary to Cannes. And mercurial corporate schemer Cory? He's producing a Hollywood movie. If any show can keep this many balls in the air, it's The Morning Show - but, either way, it's been renewed for a fifth series. (Ten episodes)
