Paris, Texas: Trailer, certificate and where to watch
A drifter finds purpose when he reconnects with his son
Year: 1984
Certificate: 12
Wim Wenders's surreal tale about an amnesiac (Harry Dean Stanton) who walks out of the desert after going missing for four years and, reuniting with his brother (Dean Stockwell), begins searching for his missing wife.
Wenders is a German director with a long-held fascination with the US, and his European eye gives us a unique view of America that's part nostalgia, part art and part ode.
The bone-dry Texan landscape, Stanton's weatherbeaten face, Nastassja Kinski's beauty and Ry Cooder's haunting score create an intoxicating mix that's lost none of its power and mystery in the 40 years since the film's release. (145 minutes)
