Moving on from Friends was never going to be easy, but Courteney Cox really landed on her feet with this comedy about a divorcee who finds herself reluctantly heading back onto the dating scene in her 40s.
Created by Scrubs boss Bill Lawrence, Cougar Town is sexy and silly, but also warm and heartfelt when it needs to be, surrounding Jules (Cox) with a likeable community of friends and family to bounce energetically off for six whole series. Watch out especially for Scrubs stars Christa Miller and Ken Jenkins as, respectively, Jules' indomitable ex-lawyer best friend and her eccentric dad. And look out for three mini-Friends reunions, too: Lisa Kudrow (series one, episode 11); Jennifer Aniston (series two, episode one); and Matthew Perry (series five, episode two). (Six series)
