Things You Should Have Done: Trailer, certificate and where to watch
Dysfunctional family sitcom from the mind of YouTuber Lucia Keskin, now back for series two
Year: 2024
Certificate: 15
Lucia Keskin is one of those DIY talents who started out on YouTube, uploading comedy videos that included a recreation of the Friends pilot episode that was a hit in 2018. This is her first self-penned TV series, and it retains the rough, offbeat edge that she's known.
Keskin stars as Chi, a pathologically nonchalant 'stay-at-home daughter' in her 20s who relies on her parents for everything. When her parents are killed in a car crash, their will stipulates that in order to inherit the family home, Chi must complete a list of things she should have done.
It includes everything from the banal and everyday like petting a dog, opening a bank account and going camping to bigger, more basic things that Chi should have ticked off long ago, like getting a job, making a friend, or having a first love. Not only has Chi not done these things, but she's also pretty incapable of knowing how to go about doing them.
Bridget Christie (The Change) joins the cast for series two, stepping in as Chi's therapist. The series opens with another bereavement, this time of Karen, Chi's auntie. It's up to Christie's Ruth, then, to carry the can as Chi's exasperated confidante. In between therapy sessions, expect Chi to tackle more from the list including getting a GCSE, finding a life partner and finally, growing up. Though that last one seems highly unlikely.
