This imaginative animated comedy from Dan Harmon (Community) may have a child as one of its two main characters, but it's definitely not aimed at children.
The youngster in question is Morty, the goofy grandson to Rick - a wild-haired, genius scientist who looks like a boozed-up version of Doc Brown from Back To The Future. The pair go on all kinds of strange, dimension-hopping adventures together in this vivid and colourful comedy, the silliness of which is held together by the whip-smart writing and the warmth of the bond between Rick and Morty. The fifth series was showing signs of wear, but the sixth was a return to form while the up-and-down seventh was surrounded by controversy following the departure of co-creator Justin Roiland.
