In series one of this nicely cast US comic thriller, Kaley Cuoco and Chris Messina starred as a couple who stumbled onto a big success - and trouble - when they created a true crime podcast. In series two those glamorous days are behind them, replaced by the mundane travails of raising a new baby.

Ava (Cuoco) is in a particularly challenging place, struggling with the difficulties of breastfeeding and slipping in and out of sleep-deprived hallucinations inspired by guilt over the events of series one. Cuoco was actually pregnant during that first series and it feels very much like she's drawing on life for her performance here.

It's a nice grounding for the outlandish story, which follows what happens when serial killer Matt announces he is marrying Ava's sister. The now seemingly serene murderer regards killing as his 'illness' - like alcoholism -  and his 'sobriety journey' is a big part of the fun here. There are also murders, of course, and as for the podcasting? That's been replaced by TikTok... (Eight episodes)
