Scot Squad is one of the most successful Scottish comedies you may never have heard of. A semi-improvised mock-documentary that's run for eight series, it has now spawned this spin-off.
The focus is Jack Docherty's Chief Commissioner Cameron Miekelson, as 'Scotland's number-one cop' struggles with the mood to modernise while welcoming back home his activist daughter - chalk and cheese is an understatement.
It's fun and sharply observed, at its best when its playing with the messy word soup of modern life - from DEI to the 'see word' (best avoided) - as the Chief digs himself in and out of various holes.
You don't need to have seen Scot Squad to enjoy this. If anything, it's an ideal gateway into the main show - with all eight series available on BBC iPlayer. (Four episodes, plus eight series of Scot Squad)
