Deep Fake Love: Trailer, certificate and where to watch
Love Island meets Black Mirror in this controversial dating show
Year: 2023
Certificate: 15
It was only a matter of time before AI was used in the realm of reality TV - but the outrage sparked by this Spanish series has shown that it's an ethical quagmire.
Over eight emotionally charged episodes, the ten contestants (made up of five actual couples) must watch videos of their loved ones 'cheating' on them - but they have no idea that what they're watching could be AI-generated. If they realise the footage is fake they have the chance to win EUR100,000 (£86,488).
Unsurprisingly, there's a lot of on-screen sobbing and viewers have described the series as 'toxic'. But as host Raquel Sanchez Silva acknowledges, this is a TV first - and the tech involved is genuinely impressive.
Be warned though: Deep Fake Love is much raunchier than Love Island, so it's definitely not for the prudish. (One series)
