After her wedding is bloodily disrupted by an angry god, warrior maiden Sigrid (voiced by Blade Runner 2049's Sylvia Hoeks) sets out on a mission of revenge. Assembling a band of companions including a dwarf and a seer, she embarks on a merciless and bloody quest that brings her into conflict with the entire pantheon of Norse gods.
Created by Zack Snyder of 300, Rebel Moon and Justice League fame, this is far from the cuddly view of Thor, Loki, Odin and co found in the Marvel Universe. It may be an eight-part animated saga but it's just as limb-loppingly violent and unrelentingly adult as any of Snyder's live-action efforts.
Incredibly stylish jagged animation gives it the look of Samurai Jack, while a fantastic voice cast - not least Paterson Joseph as Loki and John Noble as Odin - add real depth to the characters. (Eight episodes)
