Will Mellor and Ralf Little have been mates for more than 20 years since they met on noughties sitcom Two Pints Of Lager And A Packet Of Crisps. Despite being middle aged 40-somethings, they are still a pair of 'massive, noisy kids'.
The aim of this series is for them to grow up and learn to be men, both mentally and physically. Series one opens with a date with the world's strongest woman Rebecca Roberts, who asks the boys, 'Have you ever lifted a car before?' Next, they head to the pub from Two Pints... which is now a Buddhist temple, where Ralf gets to touch his toes for the first time in many, many years.
It's fun watching people who have the easy chemistry of long-standing bromance, which for these two involves a lot of singing and mickey-taking as well as the odd heart-to-heart. But fishing and musing with Mortimer and Whitehouse this is not, and the boys are more crude and cheekily chaotic with their banter as they tackle a wide range of challenges and meet some incredible people up and down the country. Will their adventure turn them into men? Unlikely, given how much fun they seem to be having as massive, noisy kids.
In the latest second series, the duo embark on a Top Gear-style stunt, attempting to drive a tank around Northamptonshire while blindfolded. What could go wrong? (Two series)
