The whole 'Is it real or is it cake?' concept has resulted in some staggeringly convincing culinary deceits that pass perfectly for everything from bowling balls to handbags, but this horror-themed baking show takes things to a new level. Paired up with movie-industry special effects experts, the bakers on this new two-part contest attempt to create the most scary and disgusting cakes imaginable, confections that might be a feast for the stomach but are best tasted with the eyes firmly closed in order to avoid nightmares.
Horror actor Matthew Lillard, of Scooby-Doo and Scream fame, is on enthusiastic hosting duties, while actress Danielle Harris from the Halloween movies and experimental food artist/cookbook author Nikk Alcaraz are the judges. Imagine The Great British Bake Off for goths and you're getting close to the delicious creepiness of this show. (Two episodes)
