A long-serving police officer and a 15-year-old girl take a terrifying death dive off a high-rise tower block in this drama based on Kate London's novel Post Mortem. London is ex-Metropolitan Police, and her writing brings a tang of authenticity to the characters and atmosphere here.
So what happened? Versatile Gemma Whelan (Game Of Thrones, Upstart Crow) is a great choice to play the main sleuth, DS Sarah Collins, the self-assured and focused lead of a special unit that investigates death and serious injury after contact with police. That makes it a bit like Line Of Duty, with Collins and her colleagues treated with suspicion by the officers she has to investigate, and as the first three episodes unfold, it's increasingly a case of police vs police.
The supporting cast includes Jimmy Akingbola (Rev, Arrow) and a BAFTA-nominated Tahirah Sharif (The Haunting Of Bly Manor) as PC Lizzie Adama, the only witness to what really happened at the top of the tower. (Two series)
