Kiri: Trailer, certificate and where to watch
Engrossing abduction drama starring Sarah Lancashire
Year: 2018
Certificate: 15
Sarah Lancashire has some impressive TV work under her belt - not least BAFTA-winning roles in Happy Valley and Last Tango In Halifax for the BBC - and she's the reason to watch this drama which shares the same writer, Jack Thorne, as her 2019 miniseries The Accident.
Both are tales that examine the aftermath of a shocking event: The Accident is about a community rocked by a fatal explosion at a construction site, while Kiri is about the abduction of a black girl who's in foster care. Both shows tackle meaty issues and breakdowns in duties of care, both make for engrossing and challenging viewing, and both are anchored by a superb central performance from Lancashire.
Don't miss her here as troubled social worker Miriam whose professionalism comes into question when nine-year-old Kiri goes missing. (Four episodes)
