Five Days: Trailer, certificate and where to watch
Gripping crime drama that picks out five key days in a police investigation
Year: 2007-2010
Certificate: 15
Hugh Bonneville stars as DSI Iain Barclay in this five-part thriller from 2007 about a vivacious and pretty young woman, Leanne (Christine Tremarco), who disappears without trace after stopping off to buy flowers en route to visit her grandfather (Edward Woodward), leaving her two children in the car by the side of the road.
By the time Leanne's husband (David Oyelowo) reports them missing, we know - though he doesn't - that the children have been picked up by a man who tells them he knows their parents. Where has he taken them? And where is Leanne?
It's a tense and edgy affair, which was followed by another equally gripping five-part drama in 2010. This one involves a baby abandoned in a hospital and an off-duty policewoman (Suranne Jones) caught up in a bizarre sequence of events after someone falls onto the line in front of the train she's travelling on. Did they fall or were they pushed? Who are they? And whose is the abandoned baby? The mystery deepens at every turn as the story branches out into the lives of all those involved... A strong cast also includes David Morrissey, Bernard Hill, Anne Reid and Derek Riddell. (Two series)
