SNL targets Trump's health with harsh new insult

Saturday Night Live went after the president's health with a new made-up insult that attacked Donald Trump's weight and cognitive state.

The show's Weekend Update saw co-host Michael Che debut the invented word 'Fatmentia' - a portmanteau of 'fat' and 'Dementia' - for the Democrats to insult Donald Trump with.

'This week, President Trump claimed that "affordability" is a new word made up by Democrats to hurt him,' Che began.

'But if Democrats really wanted to make up a word specifically to hurt Trump, it would probably be "Fatmentia."'

Alongside Che appeared a fake dictionary entry, defining 'Fatmentia' as 'a usually progressive condition (such as Alzheimer's).... [or the] development of multiple cognitive deficits.'

The jab at the president's health comes after recent concerns over Trump's health, including a piece from the New York Times claiming that the president was 'facing the realities of aging.'

Both the White House and Trump himself have pushed back at reports of the demise of his health frequently.

Weekend Update co-host Colin Jost continued on the same beat, joking that the president requires a daily pill box.

'In a new interview, President Trump said that Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro’s days are numbered, as opposed to Trump, whose days are lettered,' Jost said, with a daily pill planner box photo appearing on screen.

One user on X wrote: 'Fatmentia. SNL didn’t just nudge—they hammered. “Weekend Update” called it: Trump is decrepit. Every stumble, nod‑off, and slurred word now on full display, and the nation can see it.'

'"Fatmentia" is pure genius,' another said.

Others chuckled at the invented word but as rumors around Trump's health have swirled, Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt recently staunchly defended Trump who has been seen with bandages on his hands

Earlier this year, pictures emerged from the Oval Office showing Trump with bruising on his hand, which was sometimes covered up by makeup

The makeup that used to cover up the back of the president's hands, however, has seemingly been replaced by band aids which have been photographed at recent rallies.

Leavitt, however, told the press that the band aids were simply from Trump shaking too many hands.

'The Oval Office is like Grand Central Terminal,' she said on Thursday. 'He is meeting with more people than any of you even know about on a daily basis.'

Leavitt added that Trump was also on a 'daily aspirin regime, which is something that his physical examinations have said in the past as well.'

The explanation, however, stirred more online discourse surrounding the president's health.

'A bruise doesn't require multiple band aids,' one user remarked.

Another queried: 'Is he shaking hands with chainsaws? Why does he need bandages?'

One user touted their own theory on the health of the president, and said: 'Most likely explanation - he's getting biweekly IV infusions through his hands of Leqembi, the treatment to delay Alzheimers' symptoms once it's been diagnosed.'

'It also explains the frequent MRIs. When this all comes out, it will be a bigger scandal than anything up til now,' the user added.

'Leave it alone, he has old skin,' another chimed in.

The president's health has stirred much online discourse as well as frequent media reports over concerns of his diminishing health, but Trump has spoken out defending himself frequently.

After photos showed him with swollen legs and ankles, the White House revealed in July that he had been diagnosed with Chronic Venous Insufficiency - a condition where leg veins can't send blood back to the heart efficiently.

Since then, an ambulance seen as the White House stirred rumors and bruising on his hands as well as swelling of his ankles has furthered raised concerns.

Trump recently unleashed an almost 500-word tirade boasting about working 'harder than I have ever worked before' after claims that the 79-year-old president is facing significant health setbacks.

The lengthy statement to Truth Social followed his Pennsylvania rally, which kicks off a tour to protect Republican majorities in the midterm elections.

'There has never been a President that has worked as hard as me! My hours are the longest, and my results are among the best,' he said.

Trump boasted the triumphs he claims from his second term, including stopping wars and bolstering the economy, and said he has 'created an "aura" around the United States of America that has led every Country in the World to respect us more than ever before.'

He then discussed his 'long, thorough and very boring' exams at Walter Reed Medical Center.

'Seen and supervised by top doctors, all of whom have given me PERFECT Marks — Some have even said they have never seen such Strong Results. I do these Tests because I owe it to our Country,' Trump noted.
