Strictly Come Dancing pros brings chills and thrills to the ballroom as they transform into ghouls for monstrous Halloween group dance

Strictly Come Dancing's professional dancers will bring chills and thrills to the ballroom this weekend as they transform into ghouls for the Halloween special. 

The annual special show, dedicated to the holiday celebrated on October 31, sees the celebrities and their pro partners perform spooky-themed dances. 

But on Sunday night's results show, the creepy action will continue, as the professionals weekly performance promising more 'terrifying transformations'. 

The BBC teased: 'Prepare for a thriller of a weekend in the ballroom. 

'Sunday night's results show sees professional dancers Amy Dowden and Carlos Gu receive an invitation to the event of the season: The Monsters' Ball.'

First look images of the group performance see the dancers transformed into a series of monster characters - including Katya Jones and Gorka Marquez as half-skeleton, half-human hybrids, and Aljaž Skorjanec as a terrifying looking clown character.

The results show will also feature music from Celebrity Traitors star Cat Burns, ahead of two more couples being sent into the dreaded Dance Off. 

It will follow the performances on Saturday night, will will see former Love Island star Amber Davies and pro partner Nikita Kuzmin perform a Vienesse Waltz to I See Red by Everybody Loves an Outlaw.

While Alex Kingston and Johannes Radebe perform a Salsa to Horny by Hot 'n' Juicy, actress Balvinder Sopal and Julian Caillon tackle the Samba, to Stay by Shakespears Sister.

Model Ellie Goldstein and Vito Coppola perform the Tango to Abracadabra by Lady Gaga, George Clarke and Alexis Warr take on the Cha Cha Cha to Apple by Charli XCX, and Harry Aikines-Aryeetey and Karen Hauer tackle the American Smooth to Mystical Magical by Benson Boone.

Karen Carney and Carlos Gu will dance the Argentine Tango to Red Right Hand by Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, La Voix and Aljaž perform a Paso Doble to Beethoven's 5th, and Lewis Cope and Katya take on their Couple's Choice to Creep by Radiohead.

Rounding off the show, Vicky Pattison and Kai Widdrington perform the American Smooth to Total Eclipse of The Heart by Bonnie Tyler.

It comes after the Strictly professional's transformed into Britney Spears for the group dance for Icons Week last weekend. 

The pro stars each wore one of the pop singers outfits from through her years in the limelight, from her school uniform look in Baby One More Time, to the red catsuit worn in the Oops!...I Did It Again music video.

Icons Week also saw the celebrity contestants on the BBC One dancing competition pay tribute to some of the greatest music legends of all time alongside their professional partners. 

Songs by Dolly Parton, the Spice Girls, Cher, Celine Dion and Prince featured throughout Saturday night's live show, as the famous faces transform the songs into performance spectacles.  

Johnny Cash, Cheryl, Usher, Harry Styles, Beyoncé and Ariana Grande also were paid tribute to in dance, from the Salsa to the Foxtrot, Quickstep to the Rumba. 

But it was the professionals who stole the show on Sunday night's results show, with their group dance to some of the biggest hits by Britney, 43.

Amy Dowden wore the iconic school girl outfit and blonde pig tails worn by the singer in her hit music video for Baby One More Time. 

While Katya Jones had her moment in the Oops!...I Did It Again catsuit, and Nancy Xu paid tribute to the Toxic music video in a skimpy air hostess uniform. 

Alexis Warr's black corset look was a tribute to her similar look in If You Seek Amy, another of the pro stars opted for a look from Womanizer, a black wig and striped top. 

Askimpy blue two piece look marked a nod to Slave, and a ringleader outfit from the Circus music video paid tribute to the hit song. 

Strictly Come Dancing will continue Saturday at 6:35pm and Sunday at 7:15pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
