Celebrity Traitors star Joe Wilkinson was left outraged as his bag was 'searched for drugs' whilst on set.

The comedian, 50, is participating amongst a bunch of other stars for the first ever celebrity version of the popular BBC series - including YouTuber Niko Omilana, chaotic funnyman Alan Carr and TV's national treasure, Kate Garraway.

And he revealed on the Chatabix podcast how during filming - which took place in May - he threw a strop after producers wanted to check his bags when he arrived at the infamous castle.

The celebrities stayed in a budget hotel an hour from the lavish Ardross Castle in the Scottish Highlands, where the show is based.

Joe spilled the beans on the pod, saying: 'This man said, "I'm going to go through your bag". I was like, "I don’t think you are, pal."

'All the producers came. I was like, "You’re going to have to trust me,” but they were like, “Well, you have signed up to this, you p***k”, and I was like, “OK, carry on”.’

Thankfully, with no drugs to be found, everything could go ahead as planned.

'They were polite, and it was fine in the end.’

Meanwhile on the show, the Traitors - who include presenter Jonathan Ross, singer Cat Burns, and iconic Alan Carr - have already murdered Paloma Faith in plain sight, much to everyone's shock.

Over the weekend, Alan poked fun at 'murdering' his pal Paloma in a tongue-in-cheek moment after the dramatic Celebrity Traitors twist stunned viewers last Thursday.

Alan proved there were no hard feelings between the two when he cracked a joke about it while out for drinks with a pal on Sunday.

In a clip shared on social media, his friend asked: 'What kind of cocktail do you feel like, Alan?'

Grinning at the camera, he quipped: 'Oh, I don't know - I could murder a Paloma.'

Taking things one step further to prove that there is no bad blood between the long serving pals, Alan captioned the video: 'Anyone thirsty? love you @palomafaith #forgiveme.'

Paloma shared her own cheeky response in the comments, writing: 'Mines too salty.'

Fans - including host Claudia Winkleman - were also quick to share their amusement with laughing emojis, calling Alan a 'national treasure' for making light of the betrayal.

However, some people felt the joke was 'too soon', 'savage' and 'cruel.'

Following the fiery reaction, sources have insisted that tension between the pair is all for show.

A source told The Sun: 'Paloma's sad to be out first from Celebrity Traitors but is keen to carry on the game.

'She's been making digs at Alan on social media to keep up the pretence that she's still a Faithful at war with a Traitor, but of course, the pair are still incredibly firm friends.

'Both of them have been in the business long enough to know not to take anything in showbiz seriously.'

Celebrity Traitors continues Wednesday on BBC One and iPlayer at 9pm.
