Everything to know about Severance season 2 as hotly-anticipated Apple TV show returns after THREE years

Psychological workplace thriller Severance is just days away from returning to Apple TV with season two.

After premiering on the streamer in 2022, fans have been patiently waiting for Adam Scott to reprise his character Mark Scout and piece together the mystery over at Lumon Industries.

Severance is a dystopian series in which workers have their minds and memories 'severed' between their office and personal lives.

In season one, Mark found himself at the center of an unraveling secret that forced him to confront the true nature of his work.

The finale presented a multitude of questions that desperately need to be answered in season two, such as what does Lumon really do and why did they lead Mark to believe his wife had actually died?

Here's everything you need to know about Severance season two, including cast members, release date, plot, and trailer.

Adam Scott recently teased how the new chapter will begin.

He said: 'We're kicking the season off with Innie Mark having this piece of information and how that will affect him down at MDR, whether he'll be able to take that information and get it to his Outie, and how he would even try to do that.

'Who knows, but that's where we're starting. That's where the season is teeing off.'

Speaking to RadioTimes.com, he added: 'You could say that they're kind of like children in the first season.

'We've said in the second season, it's like they're turning into adolescents, or they're starting to just test the bounds of their world and develop emotional connections with each other.

'Those two aspects, Mark's Outie and Mark's Innie, are really at odds with each other in season two.'

When will Severance season 2 air?

Severance season 2 will debut globally on Apple TV+ with the first two episodes on Friday, January 17.

The remaining eight episodes will air weekly on the streamer. The finale will air on March 21, 2025.

It's been almost three years since Severance launched on Apple TV and viewers have had to wait patiently as the SAG-AFTRA strike delayed production on the upcoming chapter.

Creator Ben Stiller understands fans' frustrations by the delay and hopes that the new episodes won't let them down.

He told Variety: 'It's been an interesting, trying time over the last few years to make things, on all levels for people.

'So to keep that focus on trying to make the best possible season, being aware that it's taken a long time.

'I, like other people, get frustrated when things take a long time. I want to have the next season sooner, so I understand that feeling of the expectation.

'It's taken a long time. I hope it's good. You know, people are just wanting something to live up to what they've experienced and have it hopefully not let them down.

'And so, I don't know, all you all you can do is try to do what you think is good.'
