Catch the shy, retiring Björk in Barcelona
It's getting cheaper and easier to travel to mainland Europe, so how about combining your festival fun with an overseas break? This year Barcelona hosts its tenth Sonar - a festival dedicated to advanced music and culture.
The line-up includes Underworld, Matthew Herbert's Big Band, Ladytron, Fat Truckers and Björk all performing live.
DJ-wise, Sonar features Gilles Peterson, Metro Area's Darshan Jesrani, Carl Cox, Richie Hawtin, Krush, Oxide, Neutrino, Aphex Twin and Playgroup's Trevor Jackson.

Let's face it - our attempts at creating a British Love Parade have, frankly, failed miserably.
So why not sample the real deal in Berlin?
Think Notting Hill Carnival with a dance-music edge - last year, 750,000 people followed 41 floats through the streets of Berlin.
There's real history behind this, too - it started 14 years ago as a gathering organised by Dr Motte for 150 of his mates to celebrate tolerance and love.

The fourth Witnness has moved to a bigger site - the Punchestown Racecourse, which is 22 miles from Dublin city centre. Shuttle buses will be provided.
The White Stripes, The Streets, The Polyphonic Spree, Supergrass, Coldplay, Underworld, Beth Orton and Tricky are all on the bill.
(July 12 and 13, '130.50 for two days' camping. Tel: 0870 243 4455, www.witnness.com)
The Roskilde festival, meanwhile, is a four-day extravaganza and has been around since 1971.
Roskilde is 30mins from Copenhagen by train, the festival is organised by a nonprofit organisation, and its line-up is huge.
Massive Attack, The Raveonettes, Bj'rk, Blur, Coldplay, Doves, The Datsuns, The Kills, Iron Maiden, Lemon Jelly, The Streets, Gang Starr, Nas, David Holmes, Darren Emerson and Mike Ladd are some of the highlights.
(June 26 to 29, '140 for four days' camping. Tel: 00 45 46 36 66 13, www.roskildefestival.dk) Ryanair (www.ryanair.com) flies to Dublin, Berlin and Barcelona.
easyJet (www.easyjet.com) flies to Copenhagen, Dublin and Barcelona.
