Granada doesn't have an international airport so if you want to fly to the city you'll have to change at Madrid (45 minutes) or Barcelona (1 hour).
The nearest international airport is Malaga from where Granada can be reached by bus.
From Granada airport, 12km from the city centre, the airport shuttle bus runs to Gran Via de Colon (the city's main street) at a cost of €3, a taxi should cost about €15.
Iberia Airlines (www.iberia.com) fly to Granada via Barcelona/Madrid or directly to Malaga.
Charter airlines such as Britannia, First Choice and Airtours also fly direct to Malaga, as do Easy Jet (www.easyjet.com), Go (www.go-fly.com ), Virgin Express (www.virgin-express.com ) and British Airways (www.britishairways.com).
Buses run every hour from 7am to 9pm (no service at 8pm) between Malaga and Granada (€8). The journey takes one and a half hours and drops you at Granada's bus station. The station is a little out of town, but bus no.3 runs regularly to Gran Via de Colon (85 cents).
Headwater Holidays (www.headwater-holidays.co.uk, tel: 01606 720033) offer weekend breaks in Granada in the 3 star Reina Cristina from £329 per person, based on two people sharing.
The price includes return flights from London Heathrow to Granada (via Barcelona), two night's accommodation and buffet breakfast.
