Sunshine in San Diego

Carlsbad is about two hours drive south of Los Angeles and 30 minutes north of San Diego. What a great place for a holiday! We stayed in a huge one bed apartment (ok a timeshare) right on the beach, and had a great time. Plenty of shops and restaurants within five minutes, and many miles of sandy beaches. Carlsbad is a really nice town, with Bavarian influences - hence the name.
We visited San Diego old town and did the city bus tour. We also drove out to Mount Palomar for a day - what a great drive! We spent a couple of days in Laguna Beach too, and that was nice if you like art. I would thoroughly recommend the whole area.
