A Briton was among eight people killed when an overloaded speedboat taking revellers home from a beach party sank off Thailand yesterday. Londoner Marc Elder-Bradley, 38, was killed when the craft overturned while turning at high speed after a 'full moon rave' on Koh Samui. The other dead were a Frenchman, two Israelis, three Thais and an American.
About 20 others including a Briton, two Australians, three Swedes and a German are missing. American survivor Lee Feldman, 22, said: 'The boat was overloaded. It was built for maybe 30 people but there must have been 50 or 60. No one was wearing lifejackets.'
Revellers were trapped inside the boat as it sank, he added. 'There was pandemonium as people realised they were drowning.' He and a number of others swam to the surface. Thai officials said the boat driver was drunk.
