Extreme Golf: tee off somewhere different
Extreme golf
For some, just going to a golf club might be regarded as extreme behaviour, but for die-hard fans there is a whole range of unusual ways to enjoy the game.A new book called Extreme Golf lists the world's most bizarre courses, from ice golf in Greenland to the pitful of Nile crocodiles on the 13th at the Lost City course in Sun City, South Africa. Smokers have to keep three grams of tobacco alight using the same pipe and no more than two matches(www.cicp.pipes.org).While you're in town, stay in room 606 of the Radisson SAS Royal Hotel. the 'real stars' at
Peninsula Hotels
Hotel staff make it big in pictures
Photographer Annie Leibowitz has been commissioned to take a set of portraits for Peninsula Hotels. Leibowitz is best known for her work for Vanity Fair magazine, for which she has shot every Hollywood star and famous musician imaginable. The results of her shots for Peninsula are remarkable. She says it was wonderful to shoot 'real stars' - the staff at hotels in New York and Hong Kong. There is a Peninsula page in Hong Kong picking up a songbird in a cage for a guest, the helipad crew preparing for an arrival and the manager of the Peninsula's Rolls-Royce fleet with a 1934 Phantom II.The picture above shows a Peninsula page in Manhattan walking a groups of guests' dogs along Fifth Avenue. It's all about service.Star globetrotting: this week's celeb spots• Hugh Grant and Jemima Khan canoodling poolside at The Four Seasons hotel in Beverly Hills... the same hotel Hugh was staying at when his dalliance with Divine Brown was exposed.• Bea McCartney tottering along Laguna Beach in California with parents Heather and Paul.
