Ibiza
Historically Europe's ultimate party destination. Even the Romans would stop off in Ibiza for some R&R on their way back home from Northern Europe.
It has a hedonistic lustre like no other place on Earth and has attracted stars from Wham, Freddie Mercury and Grace Jones to Kylie, Kate Moss and P Diddy.
Clubs: Last year urban music arrived in Ibiza, with Tim Westwood and Trevor Nelson in the back room of Pacha. This year, Nelson moves into the main rooms with Ministry's all-conquering Smoove also touching down.
Of course, every style of house at any time of the day or night is also on offer. The Xbox-sponsored Space On Sundays also deserves a special mention.
Warm-up bars: Warhols, in the Port Of Ibiza. This bar wouldn't seem out of place in West London. It's sleek, minimal and stylish, which means you're safe from the 18 to 30 crowd.
Recovery: A bit further down from the well-known Jockey Club beach bar is Sa Trincha, where you can tuck into fresh seafood or a good old fry-up with tunes from one of Ibiza's original Balearic DJs. In reality, though, it's the masses of scantily clad beautiful people that distract you from your hangover/comedown.
Chill out: Beirras beach in the secluded north of the island is something of an alternative hang-out where you can watch the sun drop into the idyllic Mediterranean to a soundtrack of hippies drumming.
Shopping: The small shops in Ibiza Old Town and the Port stay open until midnight during season. After 9pm, it also turns into an impromptu hippy market perfect for picking up that individual item for your night out.
