About the hotel:
situated on the palm-lined promenade in the heart of Sitges, the three-star hotel has 59 rooms and very friendly staff. Picturesque with blue and white stripey awnings and palm trees outside, it also has a large swimming pool.
The room: fabulous sea views if your room is at the front of the hotel and it's worth paying extra for this (the others overlook the pool); all the rooms have balconies.
Bathroom: en suite with bath, shower and loo. Spotlessly clean.
Food: the restaurant offers traditional tapas - artichoke hearts, boquerones, potatoes with garlicky sauce, chipolatas - as well as main dishes and salads. Can get busy and touristy in the summer.
Fellow guests: Spanish holidaymakers, Brits, Germans and Dutch, both couples and young families.
Tariff: double rooms from £51 per night with £10 supplement for sea view.
Hotel Platjador, Passeig de la Ribera 35-36 (Tel: 00 34 93 894 50 54). Book online at www.roomservicehotels.com. The hotel is on the main palm-lined promenade overlooking the Mediterranean. Choose one of the simply decorated rooms at the front for the best views
