The Rock Hotel, Gibraltar

The Rock hotel is just wonderful and is set just out of Gibraltar town on a hillside with excellent views of the bay.
The gardens are very pretty and include an aviary. Across the road from the hotel is its private pool and also some beautiful public botanical gardens, in which there are numerous cannons and statues of British military heroes with Gibraltan connections.
The hotel itself has a relaxed atmosphere with excellent smiling staff. It has a great reputation with numerous stars having stayed and signed the guest book i.e Sir John Mills, Winston Churchill, Errol Flynn, Sean Connery and far too many others to mention.
The rooms are all spacious with sea views and have bathrobes and two complimentary decanters of sherry and whisky should you fancy a tipple. The bathrooms are large, and even have a pair of ducks to keep you company whilst soaking in the bath.
The restaurant and bar were very good with wonderfully efficient staff as were the public rooms.
So all in all an excellent choice, and my wife and I will be returning as soon as possible.
