Santa Margherita has a vast array of hotels. The four-star Continental is more moderately priced.
Eating out can be reasonable, particularly if you like pizza.
A restaurant meal for two, including wine, will probably work out between £50-£70.
A beer in a café on Portofino harbour will cost between £3-4, and half that elsewhere.
