Hotel Acacia
Located in a quiet corner of the artsy Jordaan quarter, this small family-run hotel is extremely good value, and only ten minutes' walk from the city centre.
Not only does the Acacia look out over a peaceful canal, it also owns a houseboat moored just outside, and rooms can be rented there, too.
Don't expect any luxury frills, but the accommodation is clean and there is a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.
