What to buy

Morocco is a shopper's paradise, but don't be intimidated by the souks.
Bartering is a way of life; choose a price that you think is fair and stick to it, but never accept the first figure quoted.
Leather goods are always good value and babouches (traditional Moroccan leather slippers) are an authentic buy.
Ceramics are beautiful in Morocco, plates, bowls and tagines. If you buy several, haggle for a discount.
If you have a guide, part of the tour will inevitably be a carpet shop.
You are under no obligation to buy; from the start make it clear you are 'just looking'.
