Where to eat

Everyone should eat in the Jemaa el Fna once.
Simply choose a stall, point at what you want (meat/fish) and it will be cooked in front of you, along with fresh salad and chips.
No alcohol is available, but an entire meal will set you back about £5.
Palace restaurants are a great night out. Traditional Moroccan food and entertainment is on offer in the stunning surroundings of a restored Moroccan palace.
One of the best is Palais Gharnata (389615).
For a hassle-free night, head to Al-Fassia (434060), Marrakech's only restaurant that is owned and run by women.
The food is fantastic, with sumptuous décor - low couches and cushions in scarlet and blue. Reservations essential.
For a really romantic evening, head to Yacout (382929) one of Marrakech's best restaurant.
It boasts beautiful fountains, a pool and a roof terrace with glorious views of the medina. And the food's not bad either.
For a long, languid lunch, Riad Tamsna combines an art gallery, shop and restaurant, serving modern Moroccan food in cool, elegant surroundings.
