Questions to ask when booking a hotel abroad
Last updated at 13:46 12 November 2001
If you decide a hotel is the best option, these are the questions you should ask:
* Do children stay free of charge?
* Are the floors hard or carpeted? This is important if your baby is crawling
* Do they have baby-listening or baby-sitting services?
* What are the qualifications of the baby-sitting staff?
* Does the hotel have a crèche and does it take babies for short periods?
* Does the hotel have an on-site doctor or an arrangement with a neighbouring practice?
* Does the hotel offer cots at no extra charge?
* Is there space in the bathroom to change a baby?
* Does the hotel have an in-house laundry service?
* Will they allow babies in the main restaurant area?
* Is the swimming pool fenced in?
* Are there any stairs in the room or balustrades that a baby could squeeze between?
* Are the rooms air conditioned?
* Will they provide bottle-warming services?
* Can socket covers be provided for the plugs?
* Are there full-length glass windows in the room?
