American Airlines plane forced to return to airport after smell of burning BREADCRUMBS causes alarm
The smell of burning is never something you want to experience on a flight.
So when passengers began smelling smoke on an American Airlines flight to Miami, the plane had to return to Boston's Logan International Airport.
But the smell was revealed to be nothing more than some bread crumbs burning in the oven.
Grounded: The American Airlines flight was forced to return to Boston airport after passengers smelt smoke
An airlines spokeswoman said Flight 1532 took off from Boston at 6:36am on Sunday, but after reports of a burning smell the plane returned to the airport at 7:10am.
It seems there were some crumbs in the oven that began to burn when it switched on to heat meals after take-off.
The oven was cleaned and the flight took off again at 8:20am - two hours after it was initially due to leave.
The plane was carrying 150 passengers and five crew members, who all arrived safely in Miami.
