Five Lions who roared: Maro Itoje produces another mammoth display while Sam Warburton proved his pedigree once more
- Sam Warburton showed when fully fit, he's a world class operator and captain
- Maro Itoje has become a sensational talent in such a short space of time
- Jonathan Davies played every minute of every Test and was consistently superb
- Tadhg Furlong was immense throughout series in tight and loose play
As the dust settles on the Lions' tour of New Zealand, it is worth reflecting on the key men who helped Warren Gatland's side to an admirable draw.
The pack really fronted up with the likes of Tadhg Furlong leading the charge, while Sam Warburton showed that he is one of the world's best when fully fit.
SIR CLIVE WOODWARD runs the rule over five men who were at the heart of everything positive for the tourists.
Sam Warburton stood out as Lions captain and showed his ability in the heat of battle
Sam Warburton
He was always my nominated captain from this time last year and once he was fully fit again, he proved what a sensational player he is. But much more than that, he is a special leader on and off the field. It's impossible for the opposition and their media to target him. Warburton is one of the all-time great Lions for me.
Maro Itoje
A sensational rugby talent. Probably the man of the match in the second Test and the efforts of Itoje helped keep heads above water.
Maro Itoje was immense in his physicality and is a sensational rugby talent
Jonathan Davies
Played every minute of all three Tests and was world class, as he was in Australia four years ago. He was always a starter for me, even early last season when his form had dipped. Superb in attack and defence with an underrated kicking game.
Jonathan Davies played in every minute and deserved his place ahead of Jonathan Joseph
Tadhg Furlong
It was extremely physical up front and Furlong was immense in all three Tests. Strong scrummager but mobile and strong in the loose with good skills too.
Tadhg Furlong has burst onto the scene and tormented the All Blacks all over the pitch
Sean O'Brien
I was full of admiration for the way O'Brien always fronted up and took them on with an almost reckless regard for his own safety.
Sean O'Brien offered a point of difference for the Lions with his huge carrying ability
