Three steps to heaven for Kay and his Tigers

Ben Kay, Leicester’s World Cup-winning England lock, believes the club can claim the first part of an unprecedented rugby treble today by
breaking their run of five years without a trophy in the EDF Energy Cup final at
Twickenham against Ospreys.
Next Saturday, Leicester face
Llanelli in the Heineken Cup
semi-finals before entering
the Guinness Premiership
play-offs with a home tie and
another likely final to decide
England’s champions.

Kay said: "We’ve put ourselves
in the hunt at the later stages of
all three competitions, so why
shouldn’t we say that our aim
is to win all three of them?
That has to be our goal for the
remainder of the season. I dare
say if we landed one or two
trophies it would hardly be a
disaster, especially as we
haven’t won anything since
2002, but we have a big squad
full of quality, so we feel we’re
capable of pulling it off.
"Two or three trophies would
go a long way to making up
for the past few years and all
those losing finals and semifinals.
As for me, I’ve won
everything at international
and club level except for this
trophy. It would be lovely to
make it a full set."
