Shane Williams' slim hopes of recovering from a hip injury in time to return to the Wales side for Saturday’s clash with Scotland at Murrayfield have been dashed by an untimely stomach bug.
The Lions wing had been making steady progress in his desperate push for full fitness, but coach Gareth Jenkins admitted that the bug had damaged the prospects of Williamds, 29, making a swift comeback, saying: "That has definitely set Shane back."

The team will be announced this afternoon, with Llanelli wing Mark Jones in line to return from an ankle injury and Tom Shanklin also back in the frame, while props Duncan and Adam Jones are being considered for a recall. But fallen idol Gavin Henson seems destined to be left out of the 22-man squad again.
With Sunday's 19-9 defeat against Ireland still fresh in his mind, Jenkins is preparing to address his team's shortcomings, adding: "We need to look at the team and I've got big selection options. It's not a case of players being dropped, it's about energising the team to execute a game plan."
Scotland coach Frank Hadden also names his team today, with lock Nathan Hines and flanker Allister Hogg poised to return to the starting XV.
